INTERNATIONAL STUDENT IDENTITY CARD
The ISIC card is the internationally recognized proof of full-time student status and is a student discount card in more than seventy countries, including Canada. You can fill out an application form for your FREE ISIC at the LUSU Office.

FREE LOCAL CALLS
Without a quarter? No service on the cell phone? The LUSU Office has a phone available during office hours for students to make local calls.

FAX SERVICE
The LUSU Office has a fax machine that students can use for sending and receiving
faxes during regular office hours. There is no fee for a student to send a resume or job application to a LOCAL fax number.
Please make sure the fax being received is sent to the attention of the student (please include full name and student #). Faxes received will remain on file in our office for two weeks from the day received. You can receive a fax at 705.325.0369.

ROOM BOOKINGS
LUSU Clubs can book space, rooms, video and audio equipment through our office. Forms are available at www.lusu.ca or in the LUSU office and must be completed and returned at least ten working days prior to the day the space or equipment is needed. Once the booking is confirmed you will be notified.

LUSU RIDE BOARD
Are you looking for some company on that long drive home for the holidays or do you need a ride somewhere out of town and are willing to share gas costs? Check out the LUSU Ride Board online at www.lusu.ca, in the Discussion section of the group or visit the LUSU Office.

ONLINE BOOKSTORE
New this September! Visit www.lusu.ca to buy or sell used textbooks. It’s free!

POSTER APPROVAL
LUSU must approve the content of ALL posters being placed on the LUSU boards. Posters that have not been approved and stamped by LUSU will be removed immediately. This service is free to students or clubs promoting non-profit events that benefit the student
body. This service is also available to non-students but a fee will apply. Please visit the LUSU Office for more details.

ACADEMIC APPEALS & GRIEVANCES
If you feel you have been unfairly marked or that a professor has mistreated you, LUSU can help. Our Vice President Student Issues can provide you with all possible options available to you as a Lakehead University student. Whether you wish to file an appeal or simply discuss your problems with a professor, LUSU’s VPSI is available to assist you. You can contact the VPSI by email at vpsi@lusu.ca.

LUSU CLUBS
Do you have a hobby, idea or common interest that you think is shared by other students? Why not join a club or start a club? For more information on how to start or join a club visit www.lusu.ca and click on the clubs link or email orillia@lusu.ca. Clubs are a great way to get involved!

UNIVERSAL BUS PASS (A.K.A. the U-PASS)
All full time, under-graduate students can pick up their U-PASS at the LUSU Office during regular business hours. Please have your student card ready. Your U-PASS can be used any time and as many times as you’d like, from September 1, 2012 through to April 30, 2013. Part-time, distance-ed, and graduate students can purchase the U-PASS for a fee of $100.00 per academic year. Students starting in January can purchase the U-Pass for $50.

For your convenience city transit schedules are available at the LUSU Office during regular business hours.

THE ARGUS
We will strive to cover stories that pertain to students both on a local and international level. Don’t forget that we are your student paper so any input from the student body is always welcome. Teh Argus is distributed around campus every Monday.

OMBUDSPERSON
The Ombudsoffice at Lakehead University is an impartial, independent and confidential support service provided to ensure that students and members of the University community receive fair and equitable treatment. The Ombudsperson deals with a variety of issues and complaints, and provides information for both academic and non-academic concerns. The primary objective of the Ombudsoffice is to ensure all University members’ rights are protected and that all individuals are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner.

THE GOOD FOOD BOX
The Good Food Box is an initiative of a number of community nonprofit agencies desiring
to promote good nutrition. Good Food Boxes include an assortment of fresh fruits and
vegetables and are available to anyone in the community. Place your order by the sixth of
each month, cash only. Pickup is every third Wednesday in the LUSU office (after 1pm).
$10 for a small box, $15 for a large box. For more information contact the LUSU Office at
