Volunteer for the LUSU Standing Budget Committee!

LUSU is seeking out six (6) students at large to sit on the LUSU Standing Budget Committee. Students at Large must hold no other position within the corporation. APPLY BY MARCH 1st.

Responsibilities of the Budget Committee

The Committee shall hold their first meeting on March 10th.
- The Committee shall review and revise the draft budget as presented by the LUSU Executive Committee. Every effort shall be made to complete the budget at one meeting.
- The Committee shall solicit written input from various bodies within LUSU, including the Centres, Argus, The Study, The Outpost and various committee chairs.

Powers of the Committee

-The Committee shall be empowered to revise the draft budget with a simple majority vote of the members.
-The Committee shall not be empowered to revise the staff salaries line.
-All proceedings of the LUSU Standing Budget Committee shall be open to any member of the Corporation, and the Committee shall not hold an in camera session.

Application Process:

All interested students should submit an application to vpsi@lusu.ca by March 1st.

The application should include:
o   A statement of interest.
o   A declaration that you are not currently employed by LUSU, Lakehead University, or acting as a club executive.

-     Apply by March 1st!  6 students will be randomly selected from the eligible applicants to sit on the committee.

uPass (bus pass) Information

When may I pick up my uPass?

uPasses may be picked up from the LUSU office starting on August 31, 2011.  You will need to bring your student card in order to obtain your pass.

What is the uPass?

The uPass is a transit pass for Lakehead students that allows them unlimited usage of Thunder Bay Transit services from September 1, 2011 until May 4, 2012.

Am I eligible for the uPass?

If you are a full-time undergraduate student who is enrolled in 4 full credit courses by September 23, 2011 at midnight, you are automatically charged for the uPass as part of your student ancillary fees.

If you are a part-time or Graduate student you are not automatically charged the uPass fee but are welcome to purchase it from the LUSU office for a fee of $75.00.  Visa, Mastercard, cash and debit are accepted methods of paymentLUSU Satisfaction Survey
