Hello Students of Lakehead University,
My name is Emma Brightwell and I am extremely excited to be your Student Union President. I want to personally welcome each and every one of you and thank you for choosing Lakehead University as your choice for your education. My duty is to be the student’s voice to the University Administration, the City of Thunder Bay, and our political affiliations.
My primary goal is to continue making Lakehead University feel like a community, and to connect the Orillia and Thunder Bay campus. This will involve strong communication between administration, executive and students as well as a strong dedication to both campuses. As a past Lakehead varsity athlete I have learned that hard work produces the best results and I plan on applying this knowledge in my new role as LUSU President in order to ensure this job is completed to the best of my abilities..
My advice to you as a student is to simply get involved in something. Whether it be a club, a sport, a committee, or volunteering, don’t sit back and let your years here at Lakehead pass by you without making new connections by trying something new.. Getting involved can be as simple as, going to an event at the Outpost or the Study. Through involvement you will be able to make new connections and create memories that will last a life-time. If you have any questions or concerns, want to chat, or just want to get to know the LUSU team, please do not hesitate to stop by the LUSU office. I hope this year brings you the best memories of all, and remember we are here to serve you, the students, your issues are our issues and we will do anything in our power to help make this the best year for you.
