We believe in using the best practices regarding training and retraining of all Staff in the auspices of diversity and cultural sensitivity. Our Executive Committee ensures that at least one (1) Diversity Training Session has been offered by a professional in the field during the Fall Term for all Directors, Executives, Staff, Committee Members, senior staff from the Outpost, Argus, Study, as well as any other person affiliated with the Corporation that the Executive Committee deems appropriate.
The first Diversity Training Session usually occurs no later than the last business day of the month of September and covers topics including but not limited to: |

We attempt to involve facilitators from a wide array of ethnicities and orientations in training sessions and all costs are covered by LUSU. We are committed to the continued Encouragement of Diversity in all areas we operate and our directors strive to provide safe and inclusive environments within all space controlled by LUSU. We will continue to endeavour to organize and promote events that encourage diversity and understanding within the greater University community. We work in partnership with Lakehead University, our Ombudsperson, and outside agencies to promote awareness of cultural and diversity issues affecting our academic community where possible.
